I ordered this GOLDSTITCH Women's 2024 Summer One Shoulder Long Dress because I thought it would be cute for spring and summer.I love the bright green color, it’s very on trend and especially nice for spring. Unfortunately, the dress I recieved seems to be cut slightly differently than the one in the photo. This may be a question of how the dress fits my particular body, or it may be a different cut than pictured, I’m not sure.I was aware this is a one-shouldered dress. I’m busty, and need to wear a bra, so I assumed I’d toss on a shrug to cover the bra strap. No big deal.Unfortunately, the bodice, which in the photos appears to have a gently slanted tip that covers the bosom, was cut quite low on the side with no strap.For what it is worth, I’m short and hourglass shaped, with a small waist but very curvy top. I wear a M tee, but sometimes size up to a L in a dress. I’m smaller in the waist and hips, I wear a 6 in skirts and jeans, a S in leggings. So some of this may be because I’m busty and fill out the top, but I did order a larger size to accommodate this. I’ve done this with many dresses, and never had one fit quite this way.I was able to cover my whole bosom, but that sort of pulled the top a bit out of alignment. I don’t think the dress was too small, there was still quite a lot of give and stretch in the top of the dress. But my original plan of wearing a small shrug went out the window.The bodice was just cut too low on the strapless side for a shrug to work. I was able to cover that area a bit more with a regular cardigan. So this dress will work for me in spring, but I’m not sure how it would do in summer, I might not want to wear a longer sweater then even if it’s lightweight cotton.The skirt fit well, although the tiers did hit me at less-than-ideal places. However, the cut of the skirt is very forgiving so it still looked fine. I think I’m probably the only one who would notice where the vertical lines fall, but the top tier of the skirt was strangely long on me, even after having to hike up the dress for full coverage on top. I am short (not quite 5’3”) so that may be part of the issue.So, it is my body, or the dress? I don’t know, probably part of it is that I’m short and curvy. But it’s partly the cut, too. I’ve worn other smocked bodice, flowy dresses that fit my short, curvy self just fine.I love the green color, it looks great with my dark hair and eyes and pale complexion. I think it’s a color that would be flattering to many different complexions and hair colors. This dress is comfortable to wear, and now that I took some time to figure how it fits me best, it pops on in a few seconds.It could be dressed up with heels and jewelry, even a hat, to go to a spring or summer outdoor wedding. Worn with a cardi and sneakers, it dresses down perfectly for a busy day running errands and running around. There’s a lot to like about this dress.I gave it four stars instead of five, because from the sales photos, I really did think this would work better with my figure. I know my figure flaws and what works and doesn’t work on me. Looking carefully at the sales photos, I did think this was cut a certain way, but the dress I received had a sharp slant downward at the neckline knot the gentle slope I saw in the photos.That being said, the dress is well-made, a great color, and comfortable to wear. If the neckline on the dress I received was similar to the one pictured, I would have given this the full five stars.
